Walked down to the wetlands with Sandy and Biggles this afternoon…really struggled today.
I was absolutely knackered by the time we got home.
03/09/2021 (Friday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Consult with the CLM Sleep Co re: CPAP was amazing to say the least – my brain was waking me up to breathe 53 times per hour prior to using the CPAP the data collected over the last week shows that my brain has only been waking me, on average, 0.5 times per hour.
Even the consultant was surprised at the result…so all good, the results indicate that I should be getting a more restful sleep.
The trial will continue for the next three weeks. It will be interesting to see the final results…watch this space.
I had a call from the heart specialist’s rooms today to make an appointment with a Cardiologist (Dr Grover) for me to have a series of tests on Monday September 6, to check out the old ticker in relation to the intermittent chest pains I have been having.
05/09/2021 (Sunday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Lungs felt sore when taking a breath this morning, probably caused by the CPAP.
06/09/2021 (Monday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Pain in chest radiating to both sides of my jaw making my mouth water – WTF.
Had my bloods done this morning.
Consult with Cardiologist (Dr Suchi Grover) at Calvary Adelaide Hospital. Had a stress test and heart ultrasound.
My heart appears to have a mild inflammation around the heart muscle (possibly caused through Chemotherapy and or Immunotherapy) and consequently Dr Grover has ordered a CT Scan and MRI to check there are no other underlying sinister issues and prescribed Glyceryl Trinitrate (Nitroglycerin) a Nitrolingual Pump spray with a 400 microgram/metered dose to be taken when I have chest pain.
Should work within 30 seconds or so…we’ll see!
07/09/2021 (Tuesday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Consult with Dr Roy: Bloods were reviewed and were all good.
During the consult with we discussed the outcome of my consultation with Dr Grover yesterday during which I told him that it appears there may be mild inflammation around the heart muscle (possibly caused through Chemotherapy and or Immunotherapy), subsequently he called the Cardiologist to discuss my consult with her to determine whether or not I should continue with my Immunotherapy treatment given Dr Grover is still waiting on Scan outcomes, etc.
The doctors agreed my treatment should continue, consequently Cycle 29 was had today.
Dr Roy told me that the “First-Line Atezolizumab plus Chemotherapy in Extensive-Stage Small-Cell Lung Cancer” Trial had concluded and gave me a copy of the publication and told me that I had surpassed the median overall survival rate that was 12.3 months.
Given the charts associated with the data showed zero survival after 21 months it would appear that I shall now be writing the records.
While I was being infused with the Immunotherapy drug (Atezolizumab) I received a call from DR Grover’s rooms advising me that I will be having the MRI on Wednesday, September 15.
Had a short walk through the Parkway this afternoon.
08/09/2021 (Wednesday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache. Slept in until 09:00hrs this morning, feel a bit ordinary.
Took Biggles up to a dog park so he could have a good run around – which he had, and came home absolutely buggered.
09/09/2021 (Thursday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. No Headache…woohoo!
Continued updating and mapping RII – Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package (Release 7)
10/09/2021 (Friday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Consult with CLM Sleep Co re: CPAP – results are good, have gone from 59 episodes per hour to 0.5 per night, however I shall stop using the CPAP for a week to see if the cough I have developed, stops to try and ascertain if the cough was caused by CPAP usage or otherwise.
Drove down to Victor Harbour to get some local quotes for security items, etc for the house.
Sandy drove the MX5 to give it a run and blow out the cobwebs – given it was such a nice day she put the roof down on the way back so I could get some wind in my hair…
11/09/2021 (Saturday) – Slept OK. PN. FS. Headache.
Walked up to the local IGA through the Parkway. I am finding it harder to do stuff, including walking…tend to run out of puff (short of breath).
Continued with mapping.
